about me

paola poletto: I am an artist based in Toronto, Canada. My practice includes photography, drawing, sculpture, writing and creative collaboration. Whether DIY or based in institutional knowledge, I'm interested in multi-voiced narratives. I am the independent co-producer of art/lit projects including OOL (Office of Life), an imprint I started in 2019, and also Director of Engagement & Learning at the Art Gallery of Ontario where I oversee opportunities to connect people with art. I am currently pursuing practice-based doctoral research at The Creative School, Toronto Metropolitan University, looking to expand on an embodied museum experience with visitors, artists and staff. My areas of learning include conceptual photography and museum residency. The output includes a blog called museumglitcher.ca where I show and write what I am thinking. Other blogs I've made are about specific projects. The image on my blog, paolapoletto.com, is of me on the left talking with artist and maker of live events Marilyn Arsem, in 2023. The original photo was taken by eco-performance artist Christine (cricri) Bellerose, in Edmonton. Much respect.
